Weekly Market Notes for February 24, 2005

Dear market friends,

From market manager Anne Freeman:

"If you're down to your last few scoops of coffee, don't panic, Birds and Beans will be back this week with very freshly roasted coffee. Colette of Urban Harvest will have her seeds for spring dreaming, and a small selection of her body care products as well. Things are starting to gear up in the greenhouses at Sosnickis'. Ben will very soon be too busy planting and caring for seedlings to come to market until the first wonderful summer harvests. You can fill your freezer with perogies to last until they return. Stock up on onions, too. They're still terrific.

Very best wishes to Mary Lou of Beretta's in all her future projects. I'm sure we'll see her around the market. Please welcome Gail, who'll be bringing Beretta's meats."

From Angelos Kapelaris:

"my new crop (Dec 04) of olive oil has arrived from my farm in Greece so at tomorrow's market I will be having samples on the table for tasting."

From Alvaro of Plan B Organics:

"There's beautiful foods available this week!

We'll have lots local again with onions, garlic, potatoes of several kind, squash of many sorts, apples of several types, plus frozen strawberries, shiitake maitake & button mushrooms.
