Winnie Czulinski, Wed. Jan. 26 2005
Our own Winnie Czulinski (aka "Winnie, Lady of the Dulcimer") is appearing on Rogers-10's "Daytime Toronto" TV program on Wed. Jan. 26. The show airs live at 11 am, then repeats twice the same day, at 6 pm and 11 pm.
Winnie Czulinski, CIUT-FM
From our friend Winnie Czulinski, who you may have heard playing at some of our Farmers' Markets...
*** Monday Feb. 14th, between 7 and 8 pm, I'll be on the "Acoustic Workshop" radio show on CIUT-FM 89.5 (University of Toronto) ***. It'll probably be a combined book-live music segment...Talking about my book: "Drone On! The High History of Celtic Music" [see details].
"Acoustic Workshop" is a long-running and much-loved radio show, hosted for years by renowned Canadian musician Rick Fielding. Now Heather, his wife, took it over -- kudos to her!
Cheers,
Winnie Czulinski aka "Winnie, Lady of the Dulcimer"

Winnie, Lady of the Dulcimer, Indigo, March 17, 2005, 3:30pm
From friend of the Park Winnie Czulinski:
Thought you might be interested to know I'm going to have a unique "musical book-signing" event at the Indigo bookstore, Yorkdale Mall location (Dufferin/401) on St. Patrick's Day, Thurs. March 17th, at 3:30 pm (for an hour, maybe more).
I'll be playing my distinctive mountain dulcimer, or "stringed bagpipe," to draw folks to my book "Drone On! The High History of Celtic Music."
Here's a great opportunity to hear this beautiful instrument -- and to buy a personally-autographed copy of "Drone On!"

Hi
everyone
I wanted to let you know that I'll be performing
Night Stills next weekend at my new studio HUB 14, Saturday
and Sunday April 23 and 24 at 8 p.m.
I'm going to New York
the next day to perform it at SoloPlay Lab and thought it a great
opportunity to do it again here, and to raise a little money for the
New York Venture.
Night Stills is a forty-five minute
dance-theatre solo about a lonely flower vendor who wanders bar to
bar. I originated it at The Cameron House in 2003 as a
DanceWorks CoWorks series event. Since then I have performed it
across the country and will be making a dancefilm based on it in the
fall.
If you haven't seen the show I'd be thrilled to have you
see it. And if you have, its changed over the many runs.
HUB
14 is the studio I share with Ame Henderson and Jen Johnson. We did
some hard core renovations in the winter and are really proud of it.
Its at 14 Markham Street, just north of Queen.
Tickets
are $10. Its a small space, so reservations are a good idea.
E-mail me back to let me know if you can come by (omeagan@sympatico.ca). There'll
be some hanging out afterwards too.
The Confessions of Punch & Judy
Long-time park friend and theatre actor/director Ker Wells (he played the old Italian gentleman in last summer's Festival of Outdoor Theatre) is performing at the Great Hall Theatre Centre (Dovercourt and Queen). Ker and Tannis Kowalchuk star in "The Confessions of Punch and Judy."
A farmers' market onion, a market cabbage and a very sharp knife are among the wonderful props in the show (I won't reveal more about the props). Besides the very entertaining and slightly hair-raising business around the vegetables, Punch and Judy is full of joyful/sad/mad/redemptive struggles between genders.
