Buddy Nutt, Pittsburgh - Pickleville

Created by Buddy Nutt
Performed by: Buddy Nutt
Stage Management by: Liz Hammond

Pickleville is a nonverbal musical puppet performance piece portraying the story of Sam the tragedy stricken reluctant dancing pickle man. A story of personal triumph. With the aid of a looping pedal, Buddy Nutt overlaps musical elements to create a full one-man novelty orchestra accompaniment to the action (and inaction) of Sam the pickle puppet. Ultimately his bitter reality is transcended in an absurd frenzy of celebratory dancing climaxing in his own cathartic obliteration.

"Pittsburgh's Tiny Tim" -Rolling Stone Magazine

"Buddy Nutt's expanding bag of musical tricks is going to entertain anyone with an informed sense of whimsy and the nostalgia for a simpler life, away from cell phones and the Internet." -Pittsburgh City Paper
