1. Is there a plan to cover the exposed concrete base of the sandpit water tap? That is, when is this year's large new load of sand coming?
2. I have asked that the green in-ground water outlet for the sandpit tap once again be adapted for community use. This would mean that the existing lock would be switched back to a standard padlock with keys that can once again be shared among parents who are frequent users. The chamber would have to be fixed up in such a way that the padlock no longer faces upwards, for the sand to clog the mechanism. Can this be done, and if so, when?
3. The program staff are not clear about how to look after the sandpit. You can see the inconsistencies in my obscurely located (but public) playground blog 2018 linked on the dufferinpark.ca playground news page here (first item). Could you send me the sandpit directions you give your staff?
4. Wading pools are set up to run their own sprinklers on hot days, even when the pools are not open. But today at 31 C the sprinklers were not on. Are the rec staff allowed/encouraged to turn on the sprinklers, and if so, when?
5. The slippery, peeling wading pool surfacing was supposed to be stripped off in spring of 2017 (Peter White's email record is here.) This obviously didn't happen. Is there a plan for this year, and if so, will the wading pool opening be delayed?
6. The fenced playground gets heavy use and needs appropriate maintenance. In particular, the sand underneath the monkey bars and swings and at the bottom of the slides needs to be loosened up twice a week during peak season. For some years this was the program staff's practice (after a city drop test showed it to work well). The staff just had to loosen up the sand under the monkey bars and at the bottom of the slides with a shovel and sometimes shovel some sand back under the swings. Is there a plan to do this surfacing maintenance, and if so, on what schedule?

This broken sink has been here for about three weeks, beside the old compost bins and some broken skateboard ramps. Yesterday the park's garbage truck drove right by it, but those people don't pick up litter, so I guess they didn't notice the mess.
Today I pointed it out to the little pickers, who were surprised to see it. They said they'd radio their supervisor about it.
Well, I guess they forgot, or their supervisor gave no directions for removal. The sink has clearly been dumped there -- it's not a park sink.
