[Nov.2001] Dog owners' clean-up and pizza brunch:
Close to twenty dog owners and their pets turned up in the park with garbage bags on Saturday October 27. The owners picked up all the trash they could find under the fallen leaves and then they gathered at the pizza oven, where Judy Simutis made dog bagel pizzas and bigger pizzas for the owners. The dogs seemed well pleased, as were the people. A reporter from City Dog magazine came along to do a story. One of the participants, Chad Reid, suggested that the next event could be Emmy awards for the dogs – biggest mooch, best performance of sudden deafness when called by an owner, etc., etc. The other dog owners felt that any such awards would be a very close race.
