I'm a big fan of Grateful Head on Roncy. The owner, Lysa Fina, is a neighbour.

I have been going to see Erica at "Quinn West Hair Salon" at 1479 Queen St. West (near Sorauren Ave). Really personable, throws in a nice head and neck massage, good coffee and cool music. Oh,yeah, she cuts hair really, really well. I know she also has a colour stylist around as well as junior stylist who cuts hair slightly cheaper. As a guy, it was between $40-50 and for women, I think...it was ...um...definitely more. But all worth it.

My partner recommends a young woman, Jasmine, who just settled into Angel Hair Salon, 922 Bloor St. W, 416-961-6357. She's a family friend. Not sure about the prices or whether she's good with young children, but my guy is very happy with his new cut, not a brush cut, nicely done (i'm happy too - for once a haircut that you don't have to say, don't worry, it will grow out).

Try Goretti's on Bloor near Dufferin. They are really excellent and I have had good service from them.

Hi Everyone,

On Andrea's recommendation I had my hair cut at Mike's at Bloor and Dovercourt. He did a great job and with a high level of customer service to boot. I might add that while I was there three women came in to have their hair done so it seems that he is doing well for just a short time in business.

I wanted to add my two cents and to encourage you all to support local businesses.

Regards,

Graham Shaw

We've had mostly good results with Melonhead in Bloor West Village. I think haircuts were $12?

Subject: New Local Barber great for kids

Dear Friends and Neighbours,

There is a new barber shop, on the N side of Bloor, just 2 storefronts E of Dovercourt, which just opened 2 weeks ago.

It is called Mike's Scissors: Men's Hairstyling at 976 Bloor St. W.

Saeid cut my 7 year old son's hair this afternoon and did a fabulous job. It cost $8 +tax (less expensive than Nick & Sam's on College where we usually go).

Saeid also says he is willing to cut baby's hair as well.

We have had great success at Roger's also..let's support the folks in the hood..

Wanting to pass on information about a great new barber in the hood. My son age 13 has had such a problem finding someone to cut his very thick curly hair. Roger did a great job and his prices are very reasonable. You can find his shop just across from the Y or call him at 416 357-9178
