Hello Market Friends:
I guess we could say it's winter now, after that long and lovely fall. Although we're entering a season known for hearty fare, it's still a great time for salads. Here are a couple of standouts I've enjoyed recently at others' tables:
Hurray for inventive cooks! Here's our news:
Country Meadows Gardens update: The olive harvest was good in Greece! Angelos will be back at the market on Thursday to refill your oil bottle and restock your fridge with cheese and eggs.
The Akiwenzies will not be down due to snowfall warnings up Wiarton-way.
Sosnickis' contribution: "We hit the hall this week and made tons of delicious Perogies for the holidays! Traditional potato & cheddar and our Decadent potato, cheddar and buttery onion filling! We are still field harvesting the Brussel Sprouts, Peppers are now officially over, but we have lots of Fingerlings, Red/Golds & Russian Blue Potatoes, Onions, Cabbage, Beets, Celeriac & a bevy of Leeks too! Don't forget tubs of our super Sweet Corn!!" Jess & Ben
Greenfields will be away this week and next, back on the 22nd.
Dufferin Grove's annual Craft Fair is on Sunday December 18th, from 11-4 around the rinkhouse. It's a great chance to enjoy the talents of those around us and find special homemade treasures.
See you at the market!
