Hello Market Friends:
Get ready for a bountiful week of Ontario eating. Veggies and fruits are coming on strong, and we'll have lots for the barbeque, flowers to decorate the table, wine to go with the cheese...sounds like a perfect summer celebration ahead!
News from Everdale: "It's been a busy week of harvesting and weeding and then weeding some more! We're super lucky to have had a bunch of fantastic volunteers who have helped us make a big dent in our workload. We've all been hauling in buckets and buckets and more buckets of zucchini, as well as English and field cucumbers. And this week, for the first time this season, we will have huge, beautiful heads of fresh garlic on offer! See you in the park :)" Kimberly Dawn
From the Akiwenzies: “Sorry but we won't be down. The winds were horrible Monday. Now the winds seem confused as to whether they want to blow or not for the next couple of days. So we will play it safe and wait. See you next week I hope.” Natasha
From Dyson of Forbes Wild Foods: “This week we will have Lobster mushrooms and Wild blueberries, both from northern Ontario.”
We've got a 5th Thursday this month, so Frogpond Farm will be back in the wine tent for an extra visit.
There will be lots of music, and plenty of supper-in-the-park choices too, so you can linger and enjoy the evening.
See you at the market!
