Hello Market Friends:
My thoughts are rather prone to drifting to...chocolate. If you understand this tendency, visit Mathieu at ChocoSol's table for a sample of their delicious new varieties. Be sure to try the coconut... and the vanilla...oh, and the chili, too.
Congratulations to Alli Harris of Fish Shak, who has a healthy new baby boy, born on Tuesday! Alli will be taking the week off.
Sosnickis' contribution: "Seeding is in full swing around here and it feels great! Greenhouses are already 'greening up'! We are being optimistic about this weather but prepared for future cold spells too. Full speed ahead! Ben and Toshimi will have our usual loot this week, so pop by and continue to buy our local, organic veg and foods!" Jessie & Ben
Kind Organics news: "WOW, so Springy today! We will have our "Spring" Salad blend to welcome in the season. We also have spicy "Fire" salad blend and a few bags of CHICKWEED for all you wild-crafting enthusiasts! I saw the nettle popping up in the greenhouse today and so it won't be too long before we have fresh nettles for sale again too. For now I will have a limited quantity of dried nettle tea that I will be keeping behind the counter for those that need it, make sure to ask me for some." Sandra Dombi
At Best Baa, this season brings the best and most abundant milk for yogurt. We make a lot of wonderful smoothies using this very nutritious food combined with fresh or frozen fruit and some Bees Universe honey or maple syrup from Growing Spaces. They're great for kids who are rushed or choosy about what they eat.
I'm excited about John and Irina's plans for more than just bees at Bees Universe'. Duck, goose and quail eggs will all be coming to Dufferin sometime this year! There are lots of other good things ahead, too....
See you at the market!
Anne Freeman
P.S. Please note that there will be a 'market news siesta' next week, but the market will be in full swing.
