Hello Market Friends:
Well, the time of squeezing as many vendors as we can into the buildings has shifted to the season of squeezing onto the pavement outside. For those who are wondering, we won't spread out down to the summer path until the ground has dried up and the leaves are out, around the end of May. So for now, we'll still have some indoor vendors along with as many as can fit outdoors along the west wall.
From Greenfields: We dug the last of the spring Sunchokes, and have planted next year's crop- lots of activity in the fields these days. It won't be long before our own produce is at market! Beautiful Lettuce and Rainbow Kale this week- plenty of fresh LOCAL Spring Mix too- which now contains young Pea shoots. Fruits galore, including Mangoes and Avocadoes. Have you tried grated Celeriac Salad? Very tasty with Cumin seeds and Maple-Orange dressing! Monika
Check out Plan B's fresh and tasty spring garlic. We're lucky to have them bringing cider fresh pressed for the market each week and local apples, too.
Another happy reunion this time: Bruno of FunGuy Farms will be at the market with mushrooms, cheese, seaweed and Miso.
From Country Meadows Gardens: Unfortunately we are sold out of the heirloom tomato seeds for this year but I am bringing the first of the tomato plants for this season. Also I have some beautiful young basil plants, parsley plants, and of course the rosemary. Our greenhouses are overflowing! I'll also have a limited amount of our own blend of certified organic seed starter. This might be the last time I'll bring the seed starter this year. Angelos
