Hello Market Friends:
We should have a full roster of vendors back this time, and there will be piles of medal-worthy greens, other veggies, fruits and lots more good eats to choose from! Just a little vendor news to whet your appetite:
Knuckle Down Farm thinks you should spice up your salad this week with some topless turnips! The flea beetles love them, how about you? I will have some herbs (including some catnip for those feline fanciers) and greens and a few other odds and sods as well. Jenny Cook
Sosnickis' contribution: What an awesome haul out of our fields today! Huge Eggplants and Bell Peppers, the first ripe Roma Tomatoes, the Onions, Kale, Cucumbers, loads of Green Beans, sweet Cherry Tomatoes, fresh dug Potatoes, Basil, Heirloom Tomatoes and Garlic! ***We are now taking orders for our bulk Roma tomatoes for saucing! We'll have the big cases available for a good month or more. Our blog post has all the info: http://sosnickiorganicproduce.blogspot.ca/2012/07/its-time-to-order-your-certified.html?m=0 Jess & Ben
We are very happy to welcome back Debbie Wiecha of Niagara Lavender Farm: I will be at market with a load of Redhaven peaches......it has been a difficult week but we will have a load...."
See you at the market!

P.S. Don't forget our market COOKBOOK SWAP, scheduled for August 16th. Here's how it works:
1) Look through your bookshelves and decide which cookbooks someone else would use more than you do.
2) Bring them to the park on the day of the swap or in advance: anytime when the rinkhouse is open (daytime hours in general). There will be a box with a sign. Trade your books in for tickets based on size/value: S, M, L or XL. You're also welcome just to donate cookbooks if you have too many.
3) Come to the swap on the 16th, trade your tickets for cookbooks you like, and enjoy talking about favourite recipes with fellow swappers. Chances are the ingredients you need will be close at hand!
No books to trade in? You can also buy cookbooks for a modest donation.
