Hello Market Friends:
I don't like to nag. And I know it's cold out. But as friends of the market, I hope you'll realize that it really matters to have your support on wintry days, when the farmers and vendors have to put an extra push on to make the trip. Actually, I'd like to encourage you to buy more than usual when the weather is worse than usual! This is how you can help to ensure that your favourite local and organic food producers will still be around when the flowers bloom and we're strolling in the leafy shade of Dufferin Grove. And yes, that day will come again.
Andrew Akiwenzie will not be able to attend this week, and Ying Ying Soy (Ming) will be absent, so all the vendors will have spots inside. We'll have ferments, sweet and savoury pies, soups and salads to take home ready to eat, as well as plenty of ingredients for cozy cooking on the weekend.
Beretta Farms has lots of February specials!

They've also asked to introduce you to Sweetpea Baby Foods, which are locally made using all organic ingredients, including some with Beretta meats. The babyfood purees will be offered at a very special price of $2.99/box, and wholegrain baby cookies will be $5.99/package.
From Jutta Mason: “For those of you who come to the park to skate -- here's my editorial in the February park newsletter: http://dufferinpark.ca/newsletter/wiki/wiki.php/#editorial. To use a good old farming metaphor -- eventually the chickens will come home to roost. Feel free to pass this link on to whoever you think needs to read it.”
See you at the market!
