Hello Market Friends and a Happy 2007 to you!:
There will be a good long list of vendors in attendance for our first market of the year. Lots of great vegetables to build New Year's resolutions on, and some really nice treats if you think the holidays have gone by too fast. Scott from Berettas and Ted Thorpe will be back to make the winter farmers' list complete.
With school still out, the skating scene is very lively. So that things flow as well as possible in the busy rinkhouse, we'll be using the market tents on the west side for the park bakers as well as some of the farmers. There will be market tables in the garage and in the inner rinkhouse room, too, but not in the central area where skaters come in and out.
From the Sosnickis:
"Happy New Year! As usual, look to Ben for potatoes and cabbage. I'll be serving warm, roasted vegetarian cabbage rolls ($2), roasted sauerkraut w/ garlic ($2), a sample of warm sweet corn and green beans w/butter ($1), and a few perogies as well ($1)! All served on our cabbage plates, and affordable so everyone can have a warm snack! Frozen this week for take home will be lots of cheddar/potato perogies (I will NOT run out for anyone, promise!), vegetarian cabbage rolls - smothered in lots of sauce this week! Tubs of sauerkraut, sweet corn and green beans. It's just that time of year for soups, stews & chowders, and our corn and beans are perfect ingredients! Sincerely, Ben & Jess."
Many of the other vendors haven't fired up their computers yet, but their tables will be full.
See you at the market!
Anne
