Eyes on the park. The playground cob structure is solid, in its twelfth year, but the two-year vandalism plague keeps on. It seem that the playground needs more attention, both unscheduled (by park users) and scheduled (by park staff).
This happened sometime in the few days after the first fix. The doll on the ground had its muddy dress lying nearby (not in the photo). A nasty, nasty image. Time for much closer supervision until the vandals get tired of looking for their chances.
The cob looked worse every day in the last week of April. A letter to the city councillor got some action, since the staff felt unable to clean it up, and so the serious vandalism began.
The shingle repair began and more work was scheduled for the week to follow.
This year, for the first time in 11 years, there has been graffiti, and it looks like whoever the people are, they are interested in keeping it up.
The graffiti sections were replastered by park staff Michelle Webb. Then a month later there was new graffiti:
One of the graffities seems to be a reference to the summer's peanut butter smearing in the playground, which was all over the news. Copycat?
