The cob kitchen was vandalized sometime in the spring -- all the copper was stripped out of the plumbing.
Elizabeth Antczak and Izzy Mink prepared a proposal of how to fix the cob kitchen: Cob Kitchen restoration proposal
A meeting with Parks staff did not result in any follow-up.
The cob kitchen, despite its crumbling plaster in various areas, is still largely solid. If the missing copper sections of the plumbing could be replaced by PEX, it might be possible to get another season when the outdoor kitchen has water. That would help revive the woodfired oven program.
The city rebuilt the cob kitchen counter completely, and solidly, in May 2015. Can they help prolong the cob kitchen's usefulness for another year, in honour of the 10th anniversary of that repair?
